I haven't been to either one. I am planning a trip in the second week in June and wondering which typically is better that time of year. I am bringing the boat and just want to catch some fish. I need to find lodging and any and all advise would be welcome. I know they fish differently. I just want a all around good time for me and the wife and 2 kids.(teenage girl so that is a crapshoot!)

I once took a teenage daughter to Strawberry in June. Didn't turn out well. Insects were hatching by the millions in large clouds. She never wants to go back to Strawberry again - even for ice fishing - as all she associates with Strawberry is overwhelming numbers of insects.

You deff want to go to the gorge, it’s a bit farther but there’s a lot more to do and experience. we take the family up 2twice a year and they love it. we have 8yr olds to 19 and its their favorite place and memories, they can’t wait to go back every year. you can camp or rent a place to stay $pricy$, but by far the best place. the fishing is hit or miss in June and where you want to go. Utah or wy side? Utah side has the best boating and camping but less on the fishing side "size" wise.. I can give you more advise pending what and where.

Pulled the trigger on Lucerne Valley Marina cabin on the lake. I thought it would be nice to have a slip for the boat next to the cabin(trailer on the dock) pricey but our lake powell houseboat trip got cancelled so the budget was already there. Now how does a guy fish the gorge? I am very familiar with trolling. Have a electric down rigger but not mounted and not sure I want to mount it.
