Just a quick report, hit Willard today started washing lures around 7:30 AM and it was slow until about 10:00 when we picked up the first small mouth and from then on we got quite a few hits, but only landed four small mouth they were 12 to 13 inchers but fun fighters... Couldn't find my first wiper yet and the bottom bouncers with worms didn't work for me today... Picked up the bass on plugs.... Did see some wipers chasing shad, but couldn't talk them into biting. Water temp 58 ish around noon.... Later J

Good job Skunked. Keep going and you will get that wiper, I promise. Myself I went back out on the Bear today with my boys, we caught a half dozen cats with my biggest at about 4 lbs. A good fight for sure and a nice afternoon with my boys.

I hit the bay today. Nobody was catching much. I caught a few small crappie. There will be better days.

CV hey thanks for the motivation you know I'll be glad to keep trying for that wiper. Good to hear you got your boys out and caught some good ones. Hope the boat is treating you well. Later J

At least you got onto some fish. Bass are always fun. We went to Willard Fri but found the campground full. The S. campground had some spots, for more - and a buggy parking lot - convinced the boyz we should hit Newton. So after way too much driving, we got camp set up. Met up with Jdawg and his posse, and opted not to try launching that night, due to the wind, the hour, the chill.
Morning was a calm smooth welcome. Had some musky follows off the bat, but not takers. Saw quite a few, but still no love. Bama Boy had been working it Fri, then came by Sat morning too as we headed up lake.
Chased the bass waaay up-lake, but only saw some minnows. . Didn't seem to find the perch, and the whole topology is so different this time of year. I'll have to hit some fall GPS waypoints this year.
We did see a mess of musky Sunday morn. Had one follow the lure RIGHT to my feet at shore - No more room to play...but he was just looking at it . . . .heart rushing, check, musky looking cool, yet mysterious, check.
Then I saw two, and had more follows, chases.
Later they came right up to the campspot and hung out - think they liked the smell or bacon. Jdawg actually got some hookups on 'em. We had as many as 3 musky at a time cruising by.
Sorry, already hijacked your post enough. Wish I had hit Willard, but I'd really love to get the new boat rigged and rolling for that bigger water. Though if the marina turns on, guess I'd better get a reservation!.
Sounds like you did better than most of us. Team Reelfast and I got one decent walleye in the boat but we got there late in the day and only stayed 2 1/2 hours.
With the warm weather predicted this week, I think we will see an increase in the catching.

I figured you guys would really be catching them after your last report now I don't feel as bad if it was a tough day for you as well. I still haven't caught my first walleye this year. But it's my favorite time of year to fish now so I hope I can get out again soon and scratch a few varieties off the list. Thanks for the encouragement. Later J

Hey Yote sorry your plans didn't work out but it wasn't that great of fishing so you'll have to do it again and hopefully they will bite for ya then. I heard several catfish stories around Cutler this weekend I guess I should have stayed home to fish. Nah it's always good to try different places. Catch ya later. J
