Did really well fishing with a friend out of float tubes. Looked like everybody was doing well until the wind came up around 3:00 pm. We could see that the folks trolling in boats were doing well also. I was mostly using Sheep Creek variations and my buddy stuck with a Henry’s Springer the whole day and did a bit better (though I won’t admit it.) Just about everything I tied on the leader seemed to work.

Most of the fish were in that healthy 12”-14” range and fought with some serious vigor! Good times on a light rod. We caught 3 tagged by IDF&G. Clouds of bugs and a steady hum along the shore should make for some good times and healthy fish to come.

Went back to Little Camas Sunday. It was my 9 year old sons first time in a float tube and the fish spoiled him rotten. I tied him up a bunch of flies on jig heads so he could cast them out with a spinning rod. Spent Saturday teaching him how to tie an improved Clinch knot and tethered everything I thought he would need to the float tube, including the rod. He caught his first fish within 5 minutes and was it 16". It was on for the next 5 hours. I had planned on having him dangle the jig/fly under a water bobber but we wouldn't have it. He just motored his little legs as fast as they would go and trolled those jigs with great success. Luckily for me he got the hang of releasing his own fish pretty quick.

Looked like a lot of others were doing well pretty well also. More and more people showing up thats for sure.
