Wow. Splake are a hybrid that generally don't naturally occur in nature, so I'm fascinated!! How the heck did it get there? Thanks for sharing!

My theory is they plant vivian park pond with rainbows and it and it slipped down the drainage pipe that comes out of the river.

Are there splake stocked upstream anywhere (downstream migration)?
What hatchery provides the rainbows that are stocked in that river? Are splake also raised at that same hatchery?
Chances are, the splake just got mixed in with the rainbow trout stock.

That thing looks like a pencil with fins. Maybe it's just the angle, but it looks incredibly skinny.

It was stunted bad. I think it probably got mixed in with the truck of rainbows There might be lakes closer with splake in them but I don't know of any.
