I would like to make something similar to this.

I may be asking on the wrong board but I would like some estimate on the wire size / gauge to make something like this.

This is a drop shot hook rig that keeps the line from getting twisted.

The hook size here is a 4, the setup is used for finesse bass fishing / drop shot w/ 6lb test.

Just wondering if anyone could give your recommendation by just looking at this.

Need to know what kind of wire you would recommend [stainless steel wire or ?] and perspective wire gauge size.

One more thing, this will be for personal use, I am not interested in this to sale.

[#0000ff]I would recommend stainless wire in .022 to .026 size. That is heavy enough to handle any fish you are likely to every catch on a dropshot rig but is light enough that you can work with it without having to have a special wire making tool. You will need only a pair of round nosed pliers, some cutters and a bit of practice to make nice round loops.[/#0000ff]

[cool][#0000ff]I thought I might like to try a few of those rigs, on different hooks. So I got out the wire and the tools and whipped out a few. Took some pics while I was at it. Hope they help.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Again, the key thing is to practice making nice tight round loops with the wire...using your round nosed pliers. After making the first one...which was just a bit longer than ideal...I popped out the next one in less than a minute using another hook and shortening the wire between the two loops. [/#0000ff]
