The other thread kinda got highjacked by fish diet talkers. I'm still on the fence about this weekend. I was thinking about going up friday afternoon and staying til Sunday. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with camping around the lake. I'll just take a small tent and the basics if I do. I checked out the County and State campgrounds, Wild Rose and Red Rock campgrounds. Can you pitch a tent at Hope Creek? I know alot of folks pull their trailers down there, but never paid attention to if you could actually stay over night.

Country and state will be packed full of people camping. the nice thing is there is alot of public land within a 10 min drive to the lake. thats where I wil be camping. You dont have the bathrooms but I prefer the most solitude possible when camping.

Red Rock Canyon on the west side of the lake. You can drive up that road a mile or so tward the Montana border and find a nice spot to pitch a tent for a night or two.
