Headed to the lake saturday with the intention to fish for shell crackers but I guess I was too late. The spawn is definately over. Found plenty of beds with the side scan but no fish. So decided to change gears and fish for bass.

The lake is still about 2 feet below summer pool due to the drought we've experienced this spring. Water is clear and avg. water temp is nearing 80 degrees already. We did what we always do, fished ledges with worms. The fish are still scattered. They have not developed into the big schools normally seen in post spawn. They are headed toward the river though, slowly making the post spawn transition. We had a good day catching around 15 keeper size (15&quotWink or bigger with a small number of short fish. No big fish however we did catch one little small mouth. We caught our fish on Zoom finesse worms (green punkin or junebug) fished on a lead head I make myself.

All in all a great day.
