K so there are a couple of things i'm curious about first off I was Confused at a sign I saw going into a local walmart near my house. It was a public notice about Free Fishing Day. Which is the annual event that anyone can fish without a license that day only. I know it's a legit event and all but the thing that Confused me was the text it read " June 2nd Free Fishing Day for all kids 12 and Under"

That confuses me as from my understanding at 13 you must purchase a license but 12 and under are okay without one. Am I just misunderstanding the sign or is it a well designed typo? I'm just curious as I usually try and take my little nieces and nephews, neighbors fishing and off videogames. But I'd obviously not like to be fined for a misunderstanding. THANKS

Secondly I'd like to use your minds to help me find a hook. I found one at a fishing hole I like and happened to through it on and have found it is killer against one of my favorite fat lipped friends mister carp. Bummer is I can't seem to find anyone that carries/ knows what it is. It's like a common bait holding hook but has different bend. Picture of hook

Last of all I was wondering about the trio of ponds now under "Holmes Creek" at the utah fishing report site. They now list Hobbs, Andy Adams and Holmes together. But they say that they are part of the Community Fisheries. Which i'm Confused as from my understanding Holmes is no longer under that. Just want to learn and not make a mistake. I know Hobbs is 15+ release, no bait.

Thanks for any help. Just a few more things.

[cool][#0000ff]That is a "sickle" hook design. I use Matzuo sickle hooks for almost all the jigs I make...and for tying flies and making other lures too. There are quite a few different designs. That is a "ring eye" model. They sell those in quite a few tackle outlets for the general angling public. But some of the more exotic designs...octopus, aberdeen, jig hooks, etc...are mostly only available online. You kinda have to know what you are looking for and then go shopping.[/#0000ff]

[#0000ff]Cabelas has some kinds on the shelves. Ditto for Sportsmans and even Walmart. But Cabelas website has one of the largest varieties.[/#0000ff]

TD took care of the hook. Regarding the Free Fishing Day. This is a yearly event, usually the first Saturday in June, that allows anyone to fish, regardless of whether they have a license or not. Great to get people on the water and hopefully get excited about fishing and will then purchase a license.
