Lake Tohopekaliga
Fishing Report
by: Captain Chuck Matthews
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com
800-936-7398
January 27, 2002
Fishing the last week has been very good. Fish are on beds on East and West Lakes. On East Lake, they are bedding in the reeds on the inside in about 3 to 4 foot of water. Watermelon is a good color at this time. They are also in the thick grass close to shore. On West Lake, fishing continues to be great with live bait (shiners) in the thinner grass pockets.

South Steer, Goblet’s Cove (west side of the lake), Shingle Creek area to the north and south has bedding fish. I have had great success with flukes and also speed worming an 8-inch red shad worm. Charlies makes a great swimming worm. Also on the south side of the lake by Partin’s Ditch has been a great area for finding fish.

The full moon coming up is going to be a great time to fish. The Great thing about Florida is that not all the fish go on beds at the same time, so you have a spawn and a prespawn going on at the same time. If you have any questions, please email me at CaptainChuck@centralfloridabassfishing.com.

A pet peeve of mine is the amount of cans I’m finding in the lakes. Why cant people put their trash in a bag and not throw it in the water is beyond me. I take people from all over the world out in my boat. It is embarrassing to have trash floating in the lakes. Please keep our waters clean.
Thank you.

Captain Chuck Matthews
Pro Bass Guide
A1 Action Bass Guides’ Professional Services
http://www.centralfloridabassfishing.com
800-936-7398

Captain Chuck Matthews 800-936-7398
