Wow, is it August yet??? Man it's hot already. Fishing has remained strong this week. Hope everyone got in and out of the water safely this weekend. If so, I'm sure your blood pressure is peaked out like mine It's been a goat roping to put it nicely here at Carters this weekend. <br /> <br />Needless to say fish are on the move to deep water, the only thing keeping some Spots above the 20ft zone is the massive amount of threadfin spawning early morning and drifting around in small groups in the upper portion of the water column after the sun comes up. My best bite this week has been Spotstickers, drop shots, and weighted flukes fished from in or over 20-35fow on the main lake. Very little topwater action going on early and a moving bite is getting harder and harder to get. Most fish pictured bit either drop shots or Spotsticker Jigheads both rigged w/ Spotsticker handpour Crushed Herring worm or Big Bite Shaking Squirrel Earthworm color. Best numbers day this week went to Attorney's Rick Brown & Bill Slack along w/ Rick's grandson Jack, these guys flat out hammered the Spotted Bass on Spotstickers & Crushed Herring worms yesterday. Great job guys! <br /> <br />The Striper/Hybrid bite in my opinion is all but dead, if you aren't there for the first hour you probably aren't getting bit. I've tried everything from Bluegill to Alewife and only caught two Stripers and one Hybrid this week, all were small which is odd for Carters. All three were caught no shallower than 30ft and as deep as 65ft (pictured). Also boated a 4lb Walleye out in a suspended school of fish this week approx 40fow on an alewife. <br /> <br />Thanks again to all who hired my services this week!
