Heading down to the boulders in a few weeks . Never been there. Any advice on good camping spots and lakes to hit would be much appreciated. Will be on horses so distance is not a concern

The Boulders are a fairly good sized area. Can you narrow down what you're looking for so we can give you some better info? Heck, even if the only thing you can give us is a general area (north side? south? east? west?). Are you looking to fish? what do you want to catch? Are you willing to pull your horse trailer up a rough road, or will you be looking to park it on the pavement? How many days?

Change of plans, heading to fish lake instead. But will be going to boulders in the fall. Likely the northern area.

Brookie or PBH can both give you excellent advice but here's mine:
Since you have horses your options are pretty limitless on the northern side. Except for a couple of lakes in boulder fields, you should be able to reach most of them on horseback, A great area in my opinion would be Blind. It's a big lake with good camping either at the lake or the trailhead. Fish Creek Lake area is another option with great camping and fishing. For a more rugged experience and ride, head to Lost. If you just want lots of smaller, easy fish, Donkey may be your choice. Donkey and Fish Creek area will be riding your horses on dirt roads though. Even the roads go through amazing country full of wildlife and beauty!

Looks like you have changed to Fish Lake. Leave the ponies home, they will be of little use at FL. Tow a boat or rent one from one of the two vendors there. As for the Boulders, these guys give me more credit for knowlege than I have, I have been there a few times and have fished some of the lakes that are accessable by high clearance vehicle or hiking a mile or so. When you are ready to go, PM me and I can give you some ideas.
