has anyone ever fished John August reservoir up ephraim canyon. I was on a four wheeler ride up there the other day and wished i had my fishing gear. Any info on that would be great.

I have fished most of those lakes in that area (there are severaL) I have tried it years ago only to be told by a dwr officer it has a low oxigen content and fish do not survive, (no stocking) and I can say I have never saw a fish even rise in there. Oddly enough however nearby snow lake (about a mile south and very similar looking produces exccelant fishing. About a mile south of snow lake there is a road that turns left off skyline ( by a water shed lake they don't stock for culinary water reasons) 3-4 miles down this road you will find a lake called blue or cove lake ( depending on the map you look at) It's usually great with a fly and bubble. The small , and I mean small ,stream in the canyon down to cove/blue can be fun for decent cuthroats, which will surprize you due to the small stream size. I love the area there. There are several other fishing holes in about a 10 mile radius of there

Wow! Someone mentioned Cove on the internet!
I've been waiting for that. Always wanted to fish there.
How's the road in (car, truck)?

The road in requires 4 wheel drive. You could make it in 2 wheel drive but any rain ect... it would be a problem. It is steep rocky and rutty though , so no cars. pretty spot though, and a great place to take your kids as fishing is usually fast and furious with a fly and bubble.
