I'm heading up to Logan this afternoon for a conference and was wondering how the streams were fishing? I'll be up there till thursday afternoon. I'm hoping to be able to hit them in the afternoon/evenings. I've never been fishing up that way, so some locations to try would be helpful as well.

Thanks in advance,

I've fished the Blacksmith Fork several times the past couple of weeks and it's been consistent in the evenings using small caddis, also a lot of mayflies out. The last 90 minutes or so before dark have been the best by far. I just hit whatever access isn't occupied starting at the picnic site about milepost 14.

I haven't fished the Logan yet this year, but years past my go-to has been an attractor dry with a bead-head dropper. I like the upper reaches, but keep in mind the river is still closed above Red Banks.

Wherever you go watch out for rattlesnakes.

Thanks! I hit the Logan last night and did well on a small caddis. Also caught one on 16 pt dropper. Hopefully I'll be able to get over on the Blacksmith Fork tonight...

Was able to head over to the Blacksmith Fork this evening and found much better success. Top flies were Caddis, Haresears, and Chernobyl Ants. Everything seemed to be working about the same as anything else. Lots of fun, my buddy even managed to get the skunk off![Wink] Despite his getting really wet (on account of his leaky waders) we had a good time. Really funny to watch him pour out about a liter of water from one leg after we were done though.[laugh] Hopefully more fun tomorrow...[fishon]
