Cool morning, light wind, only a 20% chance of rain. Looked out the window and saw several robins fussing over a certain corner of the yard, chests puffed out, each claiming it was his "spot" or he was there first or he was hopping in that particular direction when another robin cut in front of him. No serious damage, but a few ruffled feathers............<br /><br />"Ahh," thought I, "I think I'll go fishing!"<br /><br /><br /><br />Seventeen - count 'em - seventeen boats at the nuke, most of 'em drawn up in a circle with their bows pointed inwards like vultures waiting for the feeding frenzy to begin. There they are!!! Everyone casts to the school of white bass that has just surfaced and each boat takes a couple of fish, then the fish are gone like they never existed. All eyes scan the area and rods are poised for the next eruption....and everyone got along just fine. No ruffled feathers at all.......<br /><br />I saw bassErt's boat and drumking was with him. Talked with the bassTert (trust me, that was a typo and NOT my fault) and drumking, and I wound up throwing at the whites for a while too. Lots of fun in the jumps. There was blood in bassErt's boat, but I'll let them tell that story (also NOT my fault). I decided not to tell you about drumking peeing in a jug just as a school surfaced right at the boat........... I was even told the SECRET lure.........but I forgot what it was (that's my story so don't even try). I tried for catfish and bass with threadfin shad today and never got a sniff from a largemouth and only caught one little blue cat. You gotta see the pics of that greedy fish. I couldn't believe it even tried, and it was lucky that I was in a good mood and decided to save its life by removing the shad!<br /><br />The 20% chance of rain got me wet twice today, once in the boat and again at home, but the other 80% of the day was really nice and I picked up a new gas grill for mom. At 84 she's still grilling!!!!! emoBig Gotta love it!<br /><br /><br />
