Hit the Weber up with a couple friends yesterday. Caught a couple nice Brown. A fat Whitey and a big ol' sucker. I had three other fish break me off in the same hole the sucker came out of so I am thinking they were huge suckers.

Well, funny that you mention it, I usually shoot with a Canon T2i but his trip I was lazy. All these pictures were taken with the camera built into my phone. It's an HTC Sensation and it does produce some decent images.

Good looking browns and awesome pics. It almost looks like you used a special lens to get those great colors. Some years ago I caught two suckers out of the Weeb that were over 5 lbs so there are some big ones in there for sure. Thanks for sharing your report.

Below Echo. That was the first sucker I've ever pulled out of the Weber. My buddy pulled a big one out of there about a week ago. He asked the DWR about them and they said they are an invasive species and to kill as many of them as we could. The DWR guy said they had killed a couple hundred of them a few weeks ago when they were netting fish for a survey.

yiou can. the free way side of the river is public proerty all the way until the bridge near the toll road. there is a catch though, you can not park in front of that bridge and walk down and you can not par along the highway. i have parked at the gas station/hotel along 89 (i think) and crossed the road and worked my way down there. also you can park in riverdale and follow the paves path upriver for several miles

Very nice! Im learning how to fly fish on the weber. I went again today with no luck. Saw fish surfacing in the spot I was at, i spose i was not throwing the right fly.

I'm pretty sure those suckers below Echo are Utah Suckers. They are indigenous to Utah (and Southern Idaho) unlike the other fish you posted. That is the only spot on the Weeb I've ever caught any. There are quite a few record size fish in there but I think DWR stopped tracking it recently as they aren't game fish. And most record fish caught never got reported anyway as no one wanted their name next to Utah Sucker[
].
I'd just leave them alone, they aren't overtaking the Weeb and they must have some role in the ecosystem. Last thing we need is for them to get listed as a threatened or endangered species someday.
