My 3 year old daughter and I went out on my pontoon yesterday put in at blacktail at about 1 and started fishing. right off the bat I caught a 16in Smallie and a few other smallies. We were hoping to get some perch for fish tacos but didn't hook any of them. Abby hooked a 13 in rainbow that we kept because it swallowed a hook and then she hooked herself in the arm and didn't want to fish anymore. But we kept going we got a little further and I was telling her to reel up her worm and the hooked into a koke that scared her to death! That koke was jumping and doing everything that it could to get off but we got her landed. The rest of the day was kind of slow the wind came up a bit and was blowing us around pretty good. we did manage to land a few more small smallies and a couple rainbows tut that was about it. The boaters were making things difficult but we still had a great time. We got off the water at 730. I talked to a couple of people that looked like they had been out after kokes that said they hadn't done very well at all. I didn't get a water temp but I bet that this weekend should be good with the warmer weather that we are getting. Good luck to anyone that goes out and if you see a guy on a red/brown pontoon come on by and say hello!
P.S. Best thing that I have done so far is build a seat that can go on the front of my pontoon for my daughter to sit on and go fishing with me! With her every fish is a
"great big one!"
