Finally was able to get the boat on the water for the first time this year! Took a couple of the kids down to Oneida to chase walleyes, perch and smallies. The beautiful morning gave way to high and gusty winds which made boat control a real bugger. Fortunately the winds layed down in the evening...
Total take home for the three of us was 11 walleye (a couple were on the small side), 7 perch and 2 sunfish. In addition to those fish that made the trip home with us for a future meal or two, we caught a couple short smallies, some small walleyes and 3 carp. Of the carp, one was snagged in the side, one bit on a spinner/crawler rig and the other... get this, bit a trolled size 7 perch colored shad rap! Unbelievable!!!
For the most part, the fish were caught on either rigs or jigs that were tipped with a crawler.
