Full Version: Twin Lakes Trout?

I went fishing at Twin Lakes near Preston a few weeks back for the first time and had a great time, spent the morning fishing from shore and caught 4 really little bass, then found some great areas for wading, and was able to land 5 more in the 11-13 inch range. I liked the lake so much that my family and I are going to spend the week of July 4th camping there.

I read on the website that their are Rainbow Trout in there, but from all of the posts I've seen on here about Twin Lakes I haven't heard anyone mention trout only bass and bluegill. I am going to be there long enough to try for everything. Has anyone caught trout there? If so where they near the shore or out deeper? What do they hit on?
Thanks,

Nate

Really nice color bows come out of thr! Good sized ones 2. Cheese flavor powerbait along the dam 1-3 ft off bottom.

Only trout I've caught there has been through the ice. Rainbows mostly and big too. It surprised the hell out of me cause I didn't even know they were in there.

CantStopFishing, Twin usually has quite a few trout. They stock about 10,000 Kamloop Rainbows in it every year. I have caught them just about everywhere in the lake, but I wasn't bank fishing.

It seems like I have caught the most in the North Lake out a ways from shore. Early morning or evening the trout will probably cruise the shoreline in closer.

Catmaster23, I much preferred the picture of your little boy laughing as your avatar. I sure hope that fly is barbless!!

It was a popper and unfortunately fully barbed.
