I have never hit any but have always been warned about them on cascade.
My question is where are they? Can anyone help me out I don't want to find them the hard way. Is there a resource available? Its a big lake and I want to be safe so thanks for any help.

What GPS does your rig have? My Lowrance HDS's have Lake Insight which had a pretty decent contour map of the lake. I would bet that a Navionics card would be very detailed which would keep you safe. On that note, I was all over the lake Sat afternoon and never had an issue

My GPS is an older hummingbirds no Topo option that I know of but its good to hear you also have had no issues.

Looking at a map, it looks like the north end of the lake ould have those kind of issues.

1. If the water is smooth, you should be able to see them as you approach (as long as you are not going to fast).
2. If the water is choppy, look for a change in water color/clarity. That will be a sand bar. The water over the sand bars will be muddy from the choppy water.
3. Go slow until you learn the area you are boating in.
4. If you find a good sand bar, mark it on your GPS and send me the coordinates. I might want to ice fish around the edges....... [

I have been on Google earth and I think I see a few on the north end along the west side. What do you guys think?

This time of year when the Lake is full the sand bars are not too much of a problem. Later when the water is down you need to watch anything on the north of the island. Also stay close to the island and there is a big horseshoe shaped sandbar on the west mountain side of the reservoir. Any of the North arms you need to be carefully as there are some stumps and sand bars you need to watch for.
There is a pretty good topo map that you can pick up at Howard's Tackle shop that will show you the places you need to watch.
