Karma hits back.

Today on Pineview after fishing one area and partner boated a nice TM we headed to the Island.

Started at the southeast side. Looked very promising especially the clear water. We are enjoying chit chatting and casting; now on the west side middle of island off island about 50’. Here comes this little black Lund 14’ with two older guys and three dogs. They’re headed to the island I boom two casts in front of the boat and the driver pays no attention keeps heading to the island. They are like 25’ away from us we can’t believe what we are seeing. They beach the boat get out along with the three dogs and the guy starts throwing the doggie water toys.

By this time I’m seething so much I say ‘HEY’. Both of them turn around and I said you know we are fishing here. The bigger guys goes it’s a big lake and it isn’t my own private real estate. I then respond it is called having respect for someone fishing. You saw us you saw what we were doing. He states again well it’s a big lake and proceeds to toss the doggie toys.

Boy, I’m torqued but I refrained from the expletives’ only fishing partner heard what I was saying. They keep looking at us and continue tossing the doggie toys and the dogs running all over and jumping in the water.

So I proceed to say screw it you inconsiderate jackwagons and take the boat and we head east up the shoreline.

About 5 minutes later, I look over my shoulder and now here’s the again ahhhhh haaaa moment where Mrs Karma starts to work her magical powers. Dorks didn’t tie their boat off and the island was taking waves from boaters and the boat starts drifting ever so slowly away from the island.

These two pieces of true work are just too busy tossing doggie toys and don’t see the boat drifting away. Like every 2-3 minutes either partner or I would look back…now the boat is like 20’ off the island. They still don’t notice it as they’re having soooooo much fun with the dogs splashing all around and chasing the toys.

Finally after like 15-20 minutes I hear the one who told us it’s a big lake…say ‘The BOAT’.

The both are laughing at each other and the big jackwagon tries to swim (no life jacket) to get it and is chest deep and the boat is drifting away about 25’ from him. Mrs Karma strikes…so he goes back to shore both of them are laughing at each other. Then the other guy goes after the boat again no life jacket including one of the dogs is going after him and he’s trying to get the dog to stay away from him.

By this time about another 5-10 minutes this older guy as we could see wasn’t making good progress at getting to the boat now about 50-75’ from the island. Partner says this doesn’t look good. I’m still irked but it’s time to do the right thing before something tragic unfolds before our eyes.

We pull in the lines and head over to the older guy trying to get the boat OMG this isn’t good at all. His face is as white as a ghost and his face is barely above water and he’s just treading water. He’s so exhausted he can’t grab our lure retrieval tool I extend out to him. Partner immediately tosses him a life jacket and he barely gets it. He wraps his arms around it and is just floating on his back.

We get to their drifting boat and get it along side our boat and partner hops in their little Lund, puts the motor down starts it up and heads to the main and most inconsiderate jackwagon still stuck on the island with the 3 dogs oh and all the doggie toys. And yes believe it or not he’s still tossing those damn doggie water toys.

I get the guy who almost drown to the back of the boat. He’s so exhausted he can’t even climb up the ladder he just hangs on for like 10 minutes. He was very thankful and apologized. He stated Dennis at times doesn’t use his head.

This guy still doesn’t have the strength to pull himself into the boat and tells me he learned a very valuable lesson today and I say back to him yea and that lesson would be Karma. You saw we were fishing and you guys blatantly ignored what we were doing for your own gratification. He agreed and again said he was sorry and what a lesson he learned.

He's still exhausted and I say extending my arm wrap your hand around my forearm and I’ll wrap my hand around your forearm and pulled him into the boat. By this time partner motors the Dennis jerk and three dogs oh and all the doggie toys to shore and I motor over to him.

OBTW we never saw any life jackets in the boat.

The Dennis guy not once said he was sorry only how we should fish at the Yacht club for tiger muskies and the guy we saved from drowning Mike is the caretaker over at the Yacht club.

Well, Mike the caretaker was a very lucky man. I’m sure he is thanking God Almighty that we were there to help him and not small, petty little folks like his dumb jackarse arrogant friend Dennis who never expressed any concern for Mike’s well fare after sending his arse off to drown in an attempt to recover Dennis’s Lund.

Dennis being a rich, arrogant jackarse from the yacht club, who wouldn’t go after his boat himself but had no qualms about sending his friend out to do it. We made sure they knew two old crustly ladies just saved one of them from drowning.

So lesson learned for the self centered I don’t give a crap about others… Mrs Karma is ever watching and ever present and ya just never know. [angelic][angelic]

You two are great people, I will thank the both of you for saving that gentleman's life and hope that a seagull craps on Big Boy Dennis on his next doggie outing.[fishin]
[signature]
Good on ya for doing the right thing anyway. Hope the numb nut idiots will learn something about civility through all that.
[signature]
Good going, that's how BFT'ers roll. Karma will repay you 10 fold.
[signature]
Wow, you sure deserve some great karma or whatever blessing for doing the right thing for those jerks.
[signature]
Good for you for not returning in kind.

I've always wanted to make a T-shirt that reads, "God must love stupid people, cuz He sure made a lot of 'em".
[signature]
Forget about the fishing. They are very lucky you were there or we'd probable be hearing about this guy 's drowning on the news. Thanks for being a good samaritan.

They sell em online...
[signature]
Good on you K2.
Who knows what would happened to those dogs if you had not taken action.
They could have been stranded on that island through no fault of their own. They just wanted a place to play and swim and be dogs.
[signature]
im pretty sure the point of the story was to let you know how inconsiderate some people are.. common courtesy seems to be a lost art these days.. ill bet if the tables were turned the two jerks would not have extended the same courtesy.. i guess we will never know and he owes his life to them.
[signature]
Good for you guys!! I wonder if Mike and Dennis learned anything....? I'd like to think so, but it sounds like Dennis may be a lost cause.
[signature]
Now wait a minute - back up the boat - so the bozo works at the Yacht club and doesn't know to have life jackets in a boat? Probably didn't even have a bowline TO tie off with.

Now I thought you were going to come back and finish the story by telling us you'd landed a 50 incher after that!

It's waiting for ya. Good save.
They sell em online...
Well, crap. There goes my retirement plan...

I believe CoyoteSpinner you are correct. We couldn't believe it ourselves and now that you mention the bow line I don't recall when I looked in the boat even seeing one.

What I also find very interesting and didn't include in the initial story (didn't see it relevant to our encounter with these two knuckle heads) was there was another boat fishing the shoreline slightly west of the island. It appeared to be a young family (Male, Female and young child) I'm sure they heard my initial exchange of words with Dennis as Mike didn't say anything just stood there.

Now when I happened to look back and see their boat drifting away it was about 25' off the island and Dennis and Mike had yet to see it...well...That boat on the shoreline that was fishing just left and just basically drove by the drifting boat. So maybe blockhead Dennis P/O this other angler because he got to close. Or maybe that angler heard my exchange with Dennis and felt the same way we felt as those two were inconsiderate butt-heads. Who knows but that boat left and we were the only ones there probably already 300-500' up the shoreline.

Usually when I encounter crapola-head people I will speak my mind when there's an obvious foul. Those folks who know me know the type of person I am and I'll do whatever I can to help someone out. However if you push me and its a foul this ole lady don't back down and be prepared as I personally don't take crap...I'll say my piece and then leave and remove myself from the situation.

I'll tell all of you that thought of just leaving passed through my head numerous times after my exchange with Dennis and before we even started working another shoreline and we were still at the island on the NW point. My lil Jiminy Cricket voice kept saying just leave, just leave, and go somewhere else...I came very close to doing that but didn't and I don't know why I stayed and have no earthly idea why. So if I would've left as my lil Jiminy Cricket voice kept saying there would have been NO ONE around only rec boaters out in the main body. No one close to these guys.

These two were laughing at each other when they noted the boat drifting. Even laughing at the dog following and interferring with Mikes attempt to swim to the boat. If we knew for one nano second how distressed Mike was you can bet we would've been there sooner. But the guys are laughing...and Dennis is throwing the doggie toys and no one is calling out for HELP we just decided based on partners last observation to go and see if they wanted our help and it was at that time we saw how really distressed Mike was.

I can't believe my post was deleted. Why? Any moderator input would be appreciated. I believe I was adheared to all the forum rules with respect to the printed material? Thank you.
[signature]
Agreed. Everyone wants to give K2 a pat on the back. But in reality she let it escalate way too far.
[signature]
Eloquent and concise response. I agree. I still want to know why my post was deleted? If I was not adhering to this forums guidelines as set forth, then I would appreciate knowing why, so as not to break the rules in the future. I enjoy this forum immensely, and I will not be a negative aspect or a detriment to it. But my original post was deleted and for no reason. This is not my forum, I will adhere to the rules, and I am not taking it personally. I will sit in my corner like a properly chided school child but I will learn nothing least I be taught.

And just how is that??
[signature]
From the post maybe they could have let them know their boat was floating off or even gone and got the boat. Fishing is just not that important compared to a potential drowning. Now I don't think they anticipated the guy to nearly drown and I wasn't there so I'm not making any judgement whatsoever. I've had to do CPR for 40 minutes once waiting for an ambulance rather than get start fishing. I should have quit CPR earlier but just didn't want to be the one to tell the spouse his wife died. I was shot emotionally and physically and just skipped the fishing that day. People dying in accidents puts it all in perspective.

Yep Fishrmn I esculated it I should've like I stated just left after the initial verbal exchange of words BEFORE THE BOAT started drifting and was on the beach. Yep should've just left and gone somewhere else on the BIG LAKE.

For some reason again unknown to me my voice kept saying leave, leave, LEAVE. I didn't maybe I should have seeing you believe I esculated this.

So there you have it Fishrmn next time just leave when my little voice states LEAVE...maybe like the other boat when the Lund was already drifting away they drove right by it. THEY LEFT I unfortunately didn't so I esculated it.

OBTW I didn't beach the boat and not tie it off or have a bow line, I wasn't the one not paying attention to my boat drifting away, I wasn't the one without life jackets...but yet I esculated it. So I caused the waves to drift the boat with my bow mount way east of the island? I caused and esculated these two guys own arrogrance and stupidity.

The Dennis guy was laughing and still tossing the ball to his dogs and watching them swim way out in the water when we motored over to his friend. Did we know Mike was in distress NO. Did we know they had no life jackets NO. So guess its okay for Dennis to be laughing and tossing the balls to his dogs. He was way closer to seeing Mike than we were. But DENNIS DID NOTHING, NOTHING, NOTHING for his friend Mike. Dennis had no visible life jackets in his boat to even help his friend. But yep we esculated.

Yep fishrmn I esculated it because I didn't listen to my voice and leave. Then we could all today or last night be hearing/reading about another possible drowning at PV. Yep should've just have left to read/hear about it.

So there you have it fishrmn next time just leave when my little voice states LEAVE...maybe like the other boat when the Lund was already drifting away they drove right by it THEY LEFT I unfortunately didn't so I esculated it.

I firmly believe there was a reason unknown to me as 99.99999% of the time I would've left but I stayed and for once didn't listen to my little voice and that reason will remain a mystery to me.

I've said my piece and Fishrmn without a doubt you'd have listened to your little voice and left. Next time I'll do that but I didn't this .00001%
