Well, Old Bent Rod used the home field advantage today. He really spanked his guest today. (That would be me). He wouldn't let me catch anything. I tried, really, I tried. I threw everything that I took over there to no avail. Rick didn't throw but one lure today and caught all the fish.

The spot that we thought had a lot of promise didn't even pan out with a bite. Well, maybe one bite that Rick missed, come to think of it. Then it was off to other waters in the "Dead Sea". We finally hit a good spot where Rick caught 3 nice keeper walleyes and lost another one that was pulling just as hard as the others, but pulled off after a short fight. I barely got the net out when it came off.

Rick caught 2 catfish, 1 small mouth bass, 1 white bass, and 1 little yellow bass. DK just hauled water today and got in a lot of casting practice. emoBigSmile I'm gonna keep coming back over here until I get the hang of these stupid fish. I shoulda fished for crappie while he fished for walleyes. I would have stood just as good as chance of catching one as I did a walleye.

We hit our last spot just after 11:00 AM and the sun was already beating down on us pretty good. I had exhausted all the water that I brought and Rick was running our of fluids too. We decided to quit. We get everything stowed, Rick sits down in the drivers seat, and click. Motor won't start. Won't even turn over. emoBang He fishes out his 300 AMP box to boost the battery off. Click! Click! Click! That's all it would do. We are 1.5 miles from where we put the boat in and he said that we would just have to go in with the trolling motor. We had just barely begun the trip when 2 good Samaritans in a pontoon boat came over and gave us a tow. We tried to give them our fish or pay them, but they wouldn't have any part of that. Nice man and wife out just looking for a place to fish. I certainly couldn't tell them where to fish.

I really enjoyed the day with you, Rick. We could get a limit if you had any help. It's hard to get good help these days though. Next time, I think that I might try time-delayed cherry bombs. See if those work. Oh, all our fish came from a different place that Rick caught them last week. He is Confused too, but made a good call. Those walleye fillets will taste good next week. emoHungry emoBigSmile emoGeezer
