First post on this forum, thought i would give it a shot...

I will be fishing for Albacore in September and wanted to get a ideal rig
Something that can handel 20-30 pounds (avg is like 16pds)
Plus I heard 7' to 8'
What do u think? (rod and reel for under $300)[fishon]

I have plenty of lures and all, just was wondering, im 15 and first time fishing for albies so i'll take any advice i can get

Any tips on finding them (don't expect locations lol) besides looking for birds and such, ideal weather? It is all happening in the Long Island Sound by boat.

In the fall I look for birds working at Napatree point RI. I use my srtiper set up of a 7" spinning rod and reel. Braided line of 20lb has worked well. One of my rigs is a combo by Penn and was under $300. Good luck.
