Took our Assault XX for 3 trips down the Green this long week-end. This was our first solo float of the Green and what a blast!
Scadden Assault made for a great fishing platform being comfortable, fun to row and control, and easy to maintain speed for long drift-free fly floats. We spent 10-11 hours on each float (lots of stops to wader fish from south river bank), but our gear held up well.
Anyway, best catch of trip was made by wife who sight-casted to four big browns in a pool. She tricked one 20-22 inch brown into hitting an elk hair caddis by letting wind bounce it on surface a couple of times before letting it settle on water. Brown looked at it for a few moments and then sipped it in.
Fortunately photo was taken just before fish wriggled its way back into the river.
Expression on wife's face says it all.
