Candi will post the pics and I will tell the tale. emoBig Candi's friend from up north came down for a visit and Candi wanted me to take them out for some white bass fishing. They have them up north where he lives and he said that they call them silver bass up there. First time that I have heard that name for them. I have heard sand bass, stripes, hybrids, and various other names for them, but never silver bass.

Anyhow, we left at first light and ran to the nuke. We were the 2nd boat up there today. Whoopee. Got in a good spot and when the bass starting schooling, we got into them right away. We each caught fish on tail spinners. I caught one on a new lure that I bought yesterday, but I don't know the name of it. It is a swimbait type lure. Caught one on it and lost another one. Most of my fish came on the tail spinner. Jeff had never seen white bass school like they do down here. Must be the hot water that they swim in and they have to jump out of the water to cool off every once in a while. emoScratch

We didn't have long to fish. So we packed up and headed to the bridge to give Jeff a short crappie fishing lesson. We caught maybe 10 fish total and decided that we all had other things that needed done today. I have to either mow my yard or put up a sign 'Do Not Feed The Animals'. There may be lions, tigers or bears in there, Oh My!

Candi, I really enjoyed our very short foray today with your friend, Jeff. Hopefully he will come back down again someday when the fish are biting better and we can spend more time together. Great guy. BTW, Jeff is a musky, northern pike, and walleye fisherman. He does fish for crappie too, but not like we do. I gave him a dock shooting lesson in my driveway before they left this morning. He is a natural.

emoBig emoGeezer
