Me and Dad started off the tournament on a bad note by having motor issues. We have a couple of coils going bad and it just limits how far we could run. Also we ran into some issues with our electronics turning off on us. emoBang . I think it had to do with it being so damp outside. Everything was wet, but it finally started working after it dried out a little bit. Ended up the Lord blessed us with a couple of decent fish and one real good one .

Started on a ledge where the past month has been real hot for us, with only one taker a 3.2# fish before dark emoScratch. Do not know what is happening there. Stayed at that spot for 2 hours with not another bite. We started to get worried a little bit, but i kept telling my dad "we have ten more hours we will be fine". After moving out of our first spot i thought we might need to try something we havent tried in a while. Pulled onto another ledge that i havent fished since last year, and caught a 15 incher weighing 1.8# and a 3.8#. See its getting a little better, but nothing to brag about.

We decided to abandon ledge fishing, seeing that i wasnt producing quite like it should. We decided to go shallow. I am sure glad we did. The first 10 min that we went shallow, i stuck one that did not move an inch on the hook set. I said "dad, get the net this one is full grown". As she got closer, i began to get more nervous as she felt the need to strip yards off the reel on several different runs. Finally got the net on her. After the high fives we began guessing the weights. i thought she was over 8 but ended up weighing 7.7#. Still pumped over that fish .

So after that fish of course we decided to stay shallow. Continued down the small ledge not more then 10 min later i hook another one. i said "get the net its another giant". I must of been trigger happy, because it was about half the size of the last fish, Still a good one weighing in at 4.1#. i thought to myself, now were getting somewhere. At that point we had over 20 pounds with one of the fish being under 2 pounds. We were in a good position. We ended up finally culling that small fish with a 3.4# fish. Caught alot of 3 pound fish, but could not get another big bite for a win.

We still made a good showing catching 22.45# good enough for 4th place, and its always great being able to fish with my dad.
