The family will be heading to Fish Lake for our annual trip August 1st-8th. Just wanted to know if the moss has turned up yet?

I have been fishing the lake for 30 + years now and know it pretty well, but the last 2 years have kicked my butt trying to catch trout during the morning and evenings without trolling.

All the kids want to catch trout but do not like to troll. Any pointers would be helpful. PM's would be appreciated to.

Turnover occurs when the surface water temperature reaches approximately 39 degrees, so no.

Maybe I called it the wrong thing, but I know typically the last half of July you start seeing the floating moss bunches that drift through your lines.

I was there last weekend and there was much more moss floating than same timed last year. I caught a lot of fish with a tiny ball of PB on a size 20 treble 3' above a sinker just drifting. Try to judge your amount of line out to put the bait appx 20' down. Use a pole holder or threatan the kids to hold on or else you are going to donate a pole to the inky depths.

So, has anyone been catching any decent perch at Fish Lake ??? That would make a worthwhile trip is there were some decent perch being caught !!!!

We caught a couple hundred perch but biggest was 8". Majority were in the 5-6" range unfortunately.
