Hey guys I live in Idaho Falls area and havent been fishing much outside of my normal spots this year due to work has kept me busy as I am in the Irrigation buisness and it has been quite drythis year. Im looking to take some days off next week finally and am looking for suggestions on where its hot right now. I do some fly fishing but mainly fish with hardware(rapalas spinners etc. I am willing to drive 3 hours from IF area. I have a outboard jet boat as well so looking to fish out of it as opposed to bank fishing. I should add.... Im not looking for your spot just a general area outside of where i normally fish.

any tips would be awesome thanks in advance.

I would actually head to Utah or Montana and get into some new species to target that you wouldn't normally fish for! Makes it a bit more exciting!

So where do you not want to fish around IdFalls? What are the usual spots?

It is hot everywhere. Well, the temperature is, but maybe not the fishing! [laugh][laugh]

Do you like rivers or lakes. Species?

If I had a jet boat, I would be fishing the South Fork or Henry's Fork. That isn't an opinion from experience. It is just wishful thinking. I kind of think the SF is high. I have no real experience on either.

I usually go to HF in rexburg. Never fished it above St Anthonys dont know about the river up that or if you can run it with a jet. I mainly like to fish rivers vs resevoirs/lakes. Im not picky on species but typically I am fishing for cutts brown and bows. I am going to give South Fork a shot next week. Im kind of a beginner out here I moved to the area in Febuary and grew up fishing for pike musky walleye and smallies in the midwest so its all pretty new to me. Ive dont really well on the HF and love fishing it, but it has really slowed down in the last few weeks with the warmer temps.
