hey a friend of mine got this gar recently in kentucky i dont remember the exact name of the river but i thought it was a cool fish and something you dont get around here. not a huge one but it was about 50 inches and around 15 to 20 pounds. cool stuff.

I can't see it very well, but it looks like a long-nose gar. Could be a spotted gar too.They look pretty similar. They have those all over the south. My parents are in North Central Arkansas. There are plenty of outfitters there that offer overnight guided trips for bowfishing. They slay the carp and gar just like that one. They are not protected fish in Arkansas and Missouri.

ya im not sure what kind it is since the pic isnt great and its on the smaller side, still think it would be fun to go down there and try for some cause i bet they put up a hell of a fight.

When I was a kid, we were diving off a private dock near Florance Alabama. I was 10ft deep or so and I remember looking up and saw one of those fish swiming near the surface. It was at least 6 ft long and had these huge teeth. I swam up and got out of the water and never swam there again. I now know they don't attack swimmers but as a kid it totally freaked me out[crazy].
