Finally got my lazy self out of bed and made it down to the Riverpark about 7:00. Plan was to catch some bait and drift for some SM. TVA was running pretty good current when I got there, about 26k. Nice overcast morning, got some bait, a little smaller than I wanted, but ok. Got caught up playing with the breaking Skippies for awhile and then got serious about finding some Bass.

I made a couple drifts from the boils downstream and hooked up each drift and promptly lost both fish. emoBang I must be out of practice as it has been awhile since I have been on the River. Anchored up with the i-Pilot on the edge of the current and a eddy spot. Started catching some decent SM right away and an occasional LM. Around 10:00 they kicked the current up to 40k + and that started a brief flurry of bites. Had some good fish breaking around me and finally hooked up a 6#+ LM. No pic as he had the hook deep and it took me awhile to get it out. I thought I had better get the fish back in the water before I killed it. Worked with him for a couple minutes and he got frisky and swam off strongly.

So the current is running strong and the fish are turned on and all of a sudden the sun breaks through, the clouds thin and the bite is done. Had a good morning with 5 keeper SM and 3 nice LM. Headed in about 10:45. If it will just stay a little cool for a couple of days I may get back down there again soon.

Regards, Labman
