Does anyone know of a good place to sturgeon and catfish that isn't CJ strike dam or below swan falls. Those places are always so busy on the weekends. I know many other places along the snake river for catfish, but just all my gear to to try sturgeon fishing and was looking for a place to do both since my friends don't have the gear for it. Guess I should mention we will be bank fishing. Thanks

The best advice I can give you is explore and find those honey holes..... I think everyone here can agree on that, just do some looking around and try different places, I would start at celebration park and work your way toward swan falls..... good luck....

Catfish are very few and far between in CJ. From hammet to bliss there are not enough Cats to fish for. Ron

The lower boise river is chock full of cats. Hop in a pontoon and float down to where it dumps into the snake. We always racked up good numbers fishing chunks of salmon belly meat.

Take Hwy 78 from Hammett to Bruneau west bound, turn right BEFORE first bridge follow to dead end. You will be on north bank of river near Indian Cove. Tight Lines.
If you don't have pics it's just a fish tale.

He could find cats there but he most likely won't find cats and sturgeon both. Ron

Never caught a cat above Hammett, but saw an 11 ftr caught at the railroad hole between Glenns Ferry and King Hill. You can see it from the freeway. Clover Creek is good for Smallmouth and Sturgeon, but's it is really snaggy, go downstream from the mouth 100 yds use the dead tree for a pole holder.
Tight lines.

The last time I tried to get to the river there at Indian cove they had a no trespassing sign on it. I thought it was public access but I was not wanting a confrontation with a land owner. Ron
