Friday night was one of those evenings that I just want to erase from my memory. It was the worst trip on Chick I have had since probably February. It had been two weeks since I had been on the water, but felt pretty confident about our chances, as I have been on some very consistent fish. As soon as we pulled up to our first spot, on my first cast got a bite, and set the hook, yelled for Dusty to get the net, but we didn't even have it out yet, so I heaved a 4# in the boat... It weighed 3.14 on my scales which are usually a little bit light. I thought here we go! Nope! Fished this spot for the first hour and a half, and then decided to move in and hit some grass. Pulled up on a spot and saw a boat working into the cut, so decided I would come up behind them and follow them... Then I noticed they were actually coming at me, sorry Jenko, didn't mean to crowd you... It was lightning pretty good so I guess from one of the bolts he recognized me and we talked for a minute, in mid sentence he sets the hook on and lands about a 4#, so you are welcome Jenko, that I brought you the good luck emoEvil . We moved out of his way. Once I was re-positioned, the next cast caught our 2nd keeper, just a barely, had to measure him. About 5 minutes later noticed he was leaving... So I rushed over to hit the area he was on as that was what I was wanting to hit originally. About 5 minutes later the skies absolutely opened up emoRain ... We quickly got on plane to get out of there, but we were in the middle of it, I couldnt see anything so I laid it down and idled across the lake to try to find some cover, but no luck. Every boat dock seemed to have 5 boats tied up to it... I think that was the worst case of wet a$%, I have ever received.

Once the storm passed, the bite absolutely died for us. We had a couple of swings and misses but didn't boat another fish. So at 1:50 we released our fish and headed for the house licking our wounds. If anyone catches a 4# that has a homemade clip on his fin, please remove it... We didn't have a needle so Dusty rigged up a clip, and we forgot to take it off prior to release

emoBang

I guess its time to re-locate some fish before the CBA next weekend. Congrats to the winners, and thanks to the tournament committee for putting on a great event!
