Havent been out a lot this summer (lots of reasons none of them good) but did get to CJ twice this week. I never seem to do good on the hump, might just be my mind set, caught a few all perch and watched the guys in the know catch them on after another. I gave up and went to my own haunts in the narrows and on the west shore of the lake. Did really good on perch and on the smallies. Same deal on both days I just need to stay off that hump, it just frustates me. A lot of the smallmouth are small but plentiful only caught 4 or 5 legal ones. Put them all back so there still there for you guys.

I've had some great days on the hump, but also had those days where you seem to be 10' away from all the action. Also, have you noticed that some boats will be catching all perch while others are 90% crappie? Deeper seems to work best for the perch. Glad you finally found them. Mike

Glad you finally got out there Mike and glad you caught some fish! I am probably going next weekend but I will be fishing for smallies. I'll try for perch and crappie later in Sept - Oct.
