Hit the River about 6:45 with no current. About 7:00 TVA started a couple generators. I started out throwing the net for some bait. I caught 4 LM Bass up to about 3#, lots of small crappie, bluegill, white bass and some very small shad. Caught more bass with the net than I did fishing, lol. Never did get any useable bait. Saw guys getting some from shore so I guess I need to figure that out.

The White Bass and Skippies were very active and I had fun catching some nice whites and a few skippies on a foley spoon behind a popping cork. Had fairly steady sprinkles/rain for about an hour. I ducked into a generator hole and fished from there for awhile.

Finally the rain let up and I moved out to a current edge after they added another generator. Was throwing a swimbait and had a hard hit that ran upstream to the wing wall. I knew it wasn't a white bass. Turned out to be a small Striped Bass (Rockfish) that put up a good fight for his size.

Moved down below the RR Bridge and caught a few more whites. Headed into an eddy water edge and let the i-pilot hold the boat while I tried blades, swimbaits, jerkbaits, and a sammy. Finally caught a couple LM 2-3# and a large channel cat on gulp minnow fished drop shot. Current never did get to the level to really turn on the fish.

Had a fun morning if a little frustrated that I couldn't find any good bait. Quit about 11:30 and beat the rain home.

Regards, Labman
