Got out to the ramp and launched early.
Arrived at our first spot, casting Blue Ghost on a 32 with a tail light. Of course, Susan caught the first crappie but not a keeper, then we started landing larger ones, most keeper size, about 11 or 12, but all released to go back and grow up a bit more. We did get some rain but nothing that was severe enough to drive us off the water and we were prepared with the rain gear today!

We had about 20 at this location, with one strange looking fish that Susan caught. We aren't quite sure what it is, maybe someone can tell us. It was about 12 inches with a fairly small mouth, not like a crappie mouth, more like a bream mouth. It had a very bright yellowish/orange throat and belly and yellow fins on the bottom. It also looked like a crappie on the back end, very strange.
We had a boat come up that was fishing for bass then left. We finally decided to leave and try another spot where we caught a few more white crappie.

Left this location and headed to one more spot where we caught about 10 more keeper size with one about 13", and most were whites, which was unusual for this location we thought. Had a few boats come up to visit with us here for a few minutes before we decided to call it a day.
Good to meet up with Korngrinder and Catfish1.
At one point we became a crowd, but a very friendly crowd as we had a nice visit.

We ended up with about 35 total for the morning.
It was a great day even with the rain to be out on the water.

Here are the pics and if you can tell what the "odd ball" is, let us know.

emoCool
