Has anyone fished it from a boat lately? I am finally pulling mine down tomorrow. Has trolling or jigging been better lately?

Fished it for only 1/2 of a day last Friday. Never really found the fish, unless one counts huge schools of perch as fish. We were vertically jigging, but there were many boaters trolling and they were catching a few. We called it quits when it started lightning around noon.

We fished for a couple hours last night. Forecast called for rain so I did not take a camera. We caught a number of bows trolling cranks. Very few boats on the water. Only saw 3 others in fact. Lots of fish suspended between 35' and 70'.

You could troll popgear and a worm all day long at Fish Lake. Somewhere around 25 feet or so you could not keep the rainbows off your line. Silver or brass or a combo of those colors worked well. Just not my thing to troll popgear and worm at Fish Lake.

I am heading down there for the holiday weekend with my daughters. This will be their first "real" fishing experience (outside ponds and catching carp at Lake Powell).

I personally would like to target the Mackinaw and Splake as I don't get much chance to catch those. We'll have downriggers out for those.

But trolling we can put two light lines out to keep the kids occupied with rainbows. Is the pop gear and worm better than rapallas or other lures?

Being girls, the whole worm thing isn't a big hit....

I tried down rigging a bit, but the popgear and worm fishing was much faster. When I finally got a fish on the rapala, I just switched to popgear to keep the wife and daughter busy.
