Made a recent run to starvation to try for a mixed bag, but I've got a bass problem and spent 99% of the time targeting smallies.
Starvation did not disappoint (once again) and relegated both DC and Jordanelle to children ponds in comparison.
The morning top water bite was incredible until 8:30 or so. We then switched to soft plastic grubs and never looked back. Conservatively we caught over 50 fish by noon. We had to sort through a few dinks, but overall the quality of the fish was a lot better than dc and jordanelle.
Landed my best Smallie of the season in the 4lb neighborhood, solid numbers of 2lb fish. Should be some great fishing in the weeks to come out there. The fish are trying to put on some winter fat and are aggressive.
