Beautiful morning, yestd., calm, some fog, not much traffic early. I fished for crappie on off-shore structure, bluffs, bridge piers and boat docks, all deep down as much as 35 ft. Off-shore was best. Probably caught 25-30, kept 9 above my 11 in. limit, one being a 14 in. TARP. Also caught a couple of yellow bass and a tiny smallie. My best lure was the 2.5 in. Bobby Garland Scent Wiggler in electric chicken with a 1/8 oz chartreuse jighead (see pic). Drumking introduced me to the Scent Wiggler some time ago. This lure also hooked up with a big blue cat yestd. I fought it for 20 minutes with the 4# test yellow crappie line, got impatient and put more pressure on him with my finger on the spool and the line popped. He came up twice where I got a good look at him, I'd guess he was around 30 lbs. The surface temp was 83 when I left and the flow was 7K cfs all morning.
