Early this evening I got a call from Spur, inviting me to take him fishing. I was sooooo excited and of course jumped at the chance. emoBang

First thing, my boat wouldn't come off of the trailer. Someone left the safety chain attached to the front of the boat. Since I never do this when I'm alone, it must be Spurhunter's fault. Finally got it loose and eventually we are off to the nuke to see if there is any white bass action this evening.

NOPE. NONE. NADA. ZIP. ZILCH.

Lots and lots of bait fish leisurely crusing in big schools, not a worry in their lives, occasionally doing the little threadfin *FLIP* on the surface. Not a predator fish in sight.

We both soaked cut skipjack in an effort to save the day with a nice catfish. ONE of us (the older, good looking, skilled one) caught a nice 10 pound blue cat while the younger ugly one worked up some of his bad luck mojo and caused the fuel line to start sucking air. Then I'm pretty sure he backed the trailer in crooked (he must have - the boat wouldn't go on straight the first 5 times I tried).

Just the one fish to show for it, but the trip was very nice and the evening was beautiful. I actually enjoyed Erik's company (well, maybe enjoyed isn't exactly the right word.....). We'll do better next time!

Erik should have some photos to add.
