I am a little behind in fishing reports. emoDoh

So here is the week that was + emoAngler

I went early every day and I was ready for bass or crappie.
Unless I say otherwise, it was a SCREAMER of a bait that worked for me the best in the Chick on all weights...everywhere.
Vertical structure and dock shooting were pretty similar except for depth.
Counting down to about 8 to10 and then moving the bait seemed to be best. (Thanks Susan) emoHeart
Other colors did work too, but these were my favs lately.
Counts were average in the 70's up to a 100+ with a fair number of keepers. That just proves fish grow emoThumbsup
Bass were all but one on topwater and some days, I just was too busy to fish for them emoUp
Just a few 7, but all but 1 were keepers emoFish

The Nick was my target for Crappie AND bass though. And I tried the same patterns for bass that I was using last year.
Love the 1/2 oz castmaster spoon! Plenty of vertical jigging combined with the pain the next day from ripping it over and over and over, but it paid off with large fish when I hooked up. And yes it still has the same lousy factory hook and yet still caught , er, well most of my hookups emoLaugh
Bass over 3 trips came to 38. One day they were running small until I went deep, but most of them were keeper+.
The crappie were good and I liked threadfin shad with the tail light fished deep on 16s and 24s
Counts for crappie averaged about 35 keepers over the three trips and 50 to 60 daily.

Other species were black and white specks and lm bass and spots and a smallie and blue slimers and channels and shellcrackers and bream and alabama smallmouths
Fun fishing for this time of year

emoCool
