Been working the last few days....and even though I have Thursday and Friday off I just had to get out there and fish before work today...what can I say, I have an addiction!

Dropped TDT off at work and headed up to Little Dell to check on the cutts. The 1st place I tried was at the boat launch....where dispite the calm clear water....no signs of life were seen.

So off to the opposite side by the inlet I went. It was simply amazing just how calm the water was.....very rare for an otherwise windy dell.

The cuttys were EVERYWHERE along the shoreline! Eating flies off the surface and chasing minnows along the bank. I watched as a school of 12 good size cutts came within feet of my toes! Only bringing the fly rod this time.....I threw out a White Dunn....and within minutes got a nice hook up. Compared to the Grayling I was catching Sunday...this fought like hell!

With no more love in the spot I was at I moved down shore. Switched to a Brown Dunn and caught another! Too bad I left the camera, backpack and net back at the previous location so no picture for that guy.

When the wind came up it was time to put away the dry flies and switch up to nymphing.

Threw out a Olive Bunny only to get a few bites, but none to shore. Tired of that I switched to a Prince Nymph and after a few small bites....I finally hooked another Cutty. This guy was one FAT fish!

Needing to get to work, I threw a few more casts and bailed for the day......ended up getting 3 Cutthroat Trout to shore in just under an hour of fishing.

In the coming months the fishing will go from good to OUTSTANDING.....the fall bite is just ramping up at Little Dell.....let me know if you ever want to hit it together sometime.

On October 31st they will close the gate and stop charging the $5 fee. TDT and I bought a pass so just 5 more times and we will have the thing paid off.

After today it is not gonna be that hard to go 5 more times!

I agree totally. Just know before hand it is C&R only and artificials and flies. No bait, no scented lures. No wading unless wearing waders an no dogs. Float tubes, Kayaks, Canoe and pontoons welcomed, but no motors of any kind
A great place to go sharpen up your casting skills.

Maybe this time we can meet up there Jazzman[Wink]
