[#0000ff]Y'know, when I saw your eyes roll back in your old bald head I wondered if you might be having a medical problem. Didn't know if I should call 911 or do CPR. Couldn't remember the number for 911 and I'll be hanged if I would do mouth to mouth on you. Glad you came back around so I could just send you home.[/#0000ff]

Hey now I was the one that smoked that tiger trout......with Tube Dudes recipie of course.[blush]
Come on think about the last time you saw Tube Dude with a tiger trout in his hands?.........I must have missed it since I have joined this site.
The cat fish is amazing. Probably a tad of PCB helps.[:p]
But seriously I am proud to get my monthly allowable does of PCB's from Tube Dude's cats. Almost makes me wanna catfish more often.

K- startin' to wonder about them PCBs in dat Kat der. Me thinks it done impacted yer speech impediments!

"secret's in the sauce"
Choice wood don't hurt neither.

Done been accused of dishing out a tasty cat or other "rolled" fishy meeself. Don't mean to compete, and think I share the sentiment wit' Da Dude- that every batch is different and unique in it's own right. And they can ALL be good!
I'll still maintain - folks that claim "I don't like fish" just haven't had the "right fish" prepared the "right way".
Got a friend at work who's hubby duz the Alaska trips, they have freezers full. Still working to convince her I can "improve" their stash. One thing I've been proud of is taking simple store-bought salmon on sale, and trippling the value after a brine and "treatment". I ain't selling it, but have had ops to impress the neighbors.
I'm still gonna have to try some carp, and see where THAT firm white meat goes! Might have a new bow to try too... (more to come)

I agree with the 1st quoted material.
Plenty of carp to eat at Yuba buddy. Small and big ones that you don't have to put a dent in and ruin the meat on one side.

Ha ha ha that's true i didn't really think about that till know. HMMM when was last time tube dude even caught a tiger trout or any uinta quality not quantity TROUT. I would still take the tiger any day from kitty. I still remember that good morning breakfast of fresh fillet tigers and the baby moose wanted to touch your hair ha ha ha. Good days.

[#0000ff]Let's see your best "non-trout" pics.[/#0000ff]
[#0000ff][/#0000ff]
[#0000ff]You are allowed your own personal preferences. But it is often true that folks tend to fish for what they can catch easiest...and avoid those fish that are more difficult. I find no real challenge in catching gullible trout. I also find them to be inferior on the table to many of the "warm water" species. I do like trout and usually keep some to eat but I prefer at least 4 or 5 other species ahead of almost any trout. THAT is my personal opinion.[/#0000ff]

Like many of us I will fish almost anywhere for almost aany species... I too enjoy trout both smoked and other prep methods but I agree there are several other "panfish" I would prefer on the table with my favorite sauce. Them are nice looking trout Pat. In your case you can say does my hand make these fish look smaller.[laugh]

The only thing matters is your still alive and enjoying the outdoors while fishing
![Smile Smile](https://bigfishtackle.com/forum/images/smilies/smile.png)
. Just another fish to be caught.
uinta quality
ugh..... anyway you can explain this one a little more? or are you talking about surroundings, not fish?
edit.. opps i am assuming you mean like the mirror lake highway area, right?
[signature]
That is there just to make fun of TDT because
When we went to uinta and camped there we hiked to a lake and he said its all about the quality not the quantity but his saying failed at that lake but I shOwed him the quantity is maybe more important that day. Good days [cool]

oh ok i get it now! thanks for clearing that up

I agree with TD about the quality of warm water species on the table. Walleye, crappie, catfish, bluegill, perch -- they're darn hard to beat.
My first exposure to "sashimi" came when I was about ten years old. The neighborhood kids regularly sneaked into a private lake to fish. One day, we were as hungry as only kids can be and we had a stringer of nice bluegill. We first thought of cooking them right there, but were afraid to build even a small fire lest we be caught trespassing. Ever the brave one with food, I popped a fillet in my mouth - and was astonished at how good it was. I still do that sometimes while fishing. Three quick knife cuts, a rinse with water and a bluegill becomes sashimi. Glorious.
Smoked carp is equally astonishing. Use a five-pounder or smaller, cube it - and just tell folks it's smoked fish. Trayfulls of it don't last long. Equally good as "lox" on a bagel with cream cheese, btw.

. . . "sashimi" . . ..
I'm with ya RR (is it talk like a pirate day already?[pirate])
I have and do and will enjoy trout on the table, or on the line. Though I'll take their brethren Koke's any day of the week.
Of your "list" I'd kinda lump them all into the "other white meat" category, but not the cats. In my book - they have their own chapter. I think a lot of consumers like fish that - don't taste fishy. Where less is better. And I join that club in ways (though I have "other" memberships too). The bass, eyes, panfish are all simple flaky white fish flesh. Yeah variances between, but they don't have a dominant flavor all their own - like - say - Salmon does. Catfish too I consider to have "it's own" flavor.
As for eating raw fish - I'd have to raise the question - is it safe? What can you catch (beyond a bone in the teeth).
There's a guy who I'd consider a Master Craftsman when it comes to the "art of food" fetching Picasso! Never tried any, but the slobber covered pix he sent me of his Sushi Craft - mmmmm - too pretty to eat (almost, well - not). Maybe I can stir his ghostly presence if I speak his name 3 times - Rhoget, Rhoget, Rhoget.
We're talking Sushi here, and upon inquiry - he said he would not use ANY raw fish from Utah waters. . . I did try, and enjoy some bass Ceviche, and I'm still here to speak of it. (pardon my french)
as for FFL summoning the almighty master-caster, all I can say is "Game, Set, Match" goes to Tubedude the Tiger Hunter!

I thought only saltwater fish are ok to eat raw??? not fresh.
