I Went to Moab for a vacation and found some time to do some fishing. I wanted to get up into the LaSal's but never made it. We ended up going to Ken's lake just south of moab. [inline 152.JPG]The The lake was very low...[inline 128.JPG] We Were catching Sunfish about every other cast with bluegill also in the mix but about mostly Sunfish Like this... [inline 147.JPG]I tied on something bigger to keep the smaller fish off and found a LMB on the end of my line .[inline 138.JPG] It wasn't very big either but It was a monster compared to everything else we were catching. We spent about an hour there before packing it up due to the heat and wind. We went back again the next day and found more of the same. I recommend trying it out if your ever in the area.
Side note: The stickups in the background of the picture of the sunfish were man made.. They were plastic hoses made to look like vegetation.

Great work! Pretty cool that there was "artificial vegies" out there but then again I would think that it would also be harder to get your hook out also.
I think it was you that mentioned you were heading down there and I told you my kitty spot on the Colorado River. Did you check it out?
I always bring a rid down there but ALWAYS spend my time exploring all the great hikes down there. Sometimes you cannot do it all.

Gosh lucky I miss that place I remember catching some nice 2 pounder bass out of that lake last year.

Im not the one you gave the catfish info to but I wish I had asked. We drove along the Colorado trying to find a spot but it was so overgrown we didn't end up stopping anywhere.
I also meant to add this picture to my original post. I think its called Salt Wash..its near the Delicate Arch. I think these must be mostly Bluegill or sunfish but there was a couple cats swimming around too but not sure if you can see them in the picture very well.[inline 09052012146.jpg]

dang that a bummer. Theres like one specific spot on that lake that i know every time i go down there i catch a few nice keepers with big blue gills in them. Next time spend more time you might catch a big blue gill with a big lure one day. Ya those are some good days that a blue gill takes a rapala shad rap. I was laughing hard and so surprise that a blue gill wants to eat a big fat lure.
That place is worth fishing a few hrs a day or more to find a few nice bass because there in there and i know. I might go in spring down there if i got the money. I wanted to go this fall but nope doesn't look like thats gona happen.
