Hey guys, I'm heading to strawberry next weekend and I need some help. This will be my first time down there and can anyone give me some tips. And also I heard that cut up shiners and chubs are a good bait and if they are can you catch them in a cast net. And I care if it is a rainbow or a cutthroat trout. And I don't mind using lures. Thanks guys.

Was up t here Thur. Two of us got 37, but it was hard fishing. Buy a doz. Shiners at sportsman, take some worms. Fish the bottom twenty ft. From shore catch one chub then use it for bait use the worms. We caught most of the 37 watching for a fish to break surface then cast a white tube tipped with chub at the fish. Some times I would race the tube away from the fish for about ten feet then let it drop. Watch for the line to go limp or feel like you hit weeds, set the hook, hook sets are free. If you don't get it the first time, drop the jig quickly. And watch for another hit.:-) . Keep doing that all the way back to the boat, then let it stay just out of sight below the boat, chances are good you will hook up. We fished renegade about twenty feet of water. They were in about ten feet in the late afternoon. I assume you have a boat, if not I have just one suggestion, get one. Good luck.
