hello all,
I've been fishing since I was 5. New member and advertiser to the site. Fish mostly fresh water but love to hit the Texas coast line for weekend trips. You know the saying, bad day of fishin still beats a good day at work.

Hi Matt and welcome to the BFT site. Looks like you take your fishing interest quite seriousl! O yea thats good. BTW thanks for buying an advertiser's banner? Guess that you're a bass man - no?

Dryrod,
I've been bass man for years... I fish more for bottom feeder and bait fish now days. As my 3 boys get older, I'll teach them the in's and outs to catching monster bass but while they are still young, (10, 7, and 3) its hard to keep their focus out on the water. A few months ago we landed a 28 pound small mouth buffalo while catching little 1-2 pound channel cats. They went crazy when that beast came up on shore. As far as advertising here, I've got a banner add, text link ads and supporter signature. I like the site and I'm proud to be a supporter.
Thanks,

[#008000]Your focus comment reminded me of the time that I was teaching my grand nephew how to fish. He might have been 6 or 7 at that time. I though that I would introduce him to spin fishing as it would be easier that working with a fly rod. Well he was all aglow with interest. But in their impatient world if something doesn't happen in five minutes then all bets are off. At one point I turned and found that he discovered a jungle gym structure that seemed to be more fun to him than watching a float for action. I guess that if he were my kid he would have spent a lot more time with me at the water's edge and would come to know what to expect.[/#008000]

I've been there before... My oldest son, he is 10 will sit out all day and fish with me. My other two, if we dont have a fish within mins of parking the truck, its over. As they get older, they gain more respect for fishing but the early years are hard getting them to focus.
