Don't know about ya'all, but I still haven't been able to really get into any crappie.. A few times at CJ on the hump I have caught a few, but no consistency, and no rhyme or reason as to who's catching them on what.

So far the only I've caught all but a few of them on cut bait strips. Perch fishing is great. I've caught a lot of them by accident trying to catch crappie. The crappie I have caught are all decent sized, and are pretty fat fish, so I know they are feeding on something..

My theory is that the lake has feed cycles, and the last two years there has been excess feed(not sure what) for crappie. But that doesn't explain the numbers of perch that are coming out of that reservoir.. Even the people I have seen with full fish baskets only have a few crappie among their perch. I've seen people using all kind of different things and still are catching mostly perch. I'm surprised there are still perch in there with all I have seen caught..

agreed. the last few years at strike have been perch heavy. 5 years ago it was crappie heavy which i prefer. at least we can catch some as opposed to going to brownlee and getting smoked.

I too agree with this summary; however I am not sure why anybody would have a problem with catching jumbo perch. They provide large fillets, are easy to clean and taste just as good. Am I missing something?
