Water temp 73-78, fog until 10:30 then sunny, wind calm until around noon then 3-5 from Northwest. Finally found a good top water bite on Weiss today. Caught a 4, a couple around 2.5, and multiple short (<12&quot to 2 pounds. Top water bite died when fog burned off so switched to wacky rigged stick bait and caught a 4.75, couple around 2, and multiple short to 1.5. All fish were caught on causeway rip-rap close to where causeway meets land. Fished middle of causeway near bridges with no luck. Most were caught where rip-rap dropped off into 12-15 fow.

Thought with the lower water temps a flat side crank bait would do the trick but only caught a couple shorts. Also tried a lipless CB under shad balls with no luck. Tried to find them on wood and docks but rip-rap was where it was at for me today.

Best bite was when a 2.5 spot exploded on a Sammy want-to-be from Academy, came completely out of the water close to the boat. If that won't get you excited, you need to find another hobby. It was a great day to be on the water with the fish biting, cooler temps and light wind. Gotta give up this fun fishing though and try and learn how to Fall fish Nickajack and Chickamauga since our classic club Tx will be fished on those two lakes next month.

emoToast
