We spent time yesterday chatting with Brent Beller from IDFG's Salmon Region office. Beller will issue his first weekly steelhead report Monday afternoon, October 8th. That means he will be out in the field along the river talking with steelhead fishermen beginning this Monday October 1st. He said he drove down to Corn Creek and back Thursday and only saw four fishermen. Basically, the fall steelhead season is underway even if it's only in its infancy.
