I was fishing up at Cascade Saturday morning as the sun was coming up. Brrrrr. There was definitely a chill in the air. My hands were frozen and I was getting so much ice on my eyelets that it was difficult to fish. I don't remember being that cold all last winter during the ice fishing season. Not even once. It feels like we are going to go from Summer to Winter without a fall, which is okay with me.[][][][][][][][][][][]

Last time I was at henry's the first thought in my head was I can't wait for this sucker to freeze! I do ok up there in the summer but I knocked the dog snot out of em last winter.

Dude - I saw my first ice of the year on some Cascade backwater Saturday morning and was thinking the same thing as you. You know there is going to be some more Indian summer but it won't be long now! In the meantime, don't plan on seeing me out there in the float tube before the sun comes up.

Only ice I look forward to is the shore ice on the Salmon River. Once its here the steelhead season is in full swing!

I'm counting on it! I fired up the ole auger today!

Ran like a champ. Tomorrow I'll look at the ice tent and the rest of the gear!
