So I had some extra time yesterday and wandered out to Oquirrh Lake. Figured I would take advantage of the warm weather while it lasts. Headed out the door around 4pm. Wandered over to my favorite fishing hole, hoping to get few bites. It was slow going, no bites, no followers , nothing! Fished for about 30 minutes and had nothing. Had brought my kids panfish rod so threw a worm in the water and couldnt even get the Suns and Blues to bite.
Figuring it was going to be " one of those days" I started wandering around the West side of the lake and heading towards home. Finally had a bass hit the spinnerbait around 5:45pm. Decent size for this lake. Also got 1 Bluegill bout the size of my whole hand. I continued to move towards the southwest protion of the lake. Bought 6:30pm the bite turned on, at least in the part I was fishing........ I ended up in a new honey hole. Caught 2 of the biggest fish I have found in the lake so far. These are not huge for other lakes but are big for this lake. Ended up with 8 bass for the evening and a Bluegill.
A great evening of fishing. Might do it again tonight!
