Steve showed me pictures of the Salmon hecatches from a stream running threw his property and Dave showed me a pictureof the 48” Pike he caught back home – obviously, neither of them are amateuranglers.

Dave and Steve chartered the Happy Day Today along with theTopshotfishing team to do some deep sea fishing Fort Lauderdale. With overcast this morning, winds out of theeast at 10-12 mph, temperatures in the mid 80’s, we left the dock and 20minutes later lines were in the water as I approached one of our artificialwrecks in Fort Lauderdale FL. As wetrolled around, both anglers took pictures of each other as they brought intheir catch.

After catching 6 Kingfish, 6 Bonitos, and 3 Barracudas, arip was forming, which was a perfect place to do some live baiting from thekites, a new experience for these seasoned anglers. We put two kites out and four live Mullets asbaits splashing on the surface attracting any predators swimming by on therip. Almost immediately a dorsal finappeared belonging to a Hammerhead Shark on the left long kite. The Shark chased the live bait aroundvigorously, splashing water up in an attempt to eat the Mullet. He finally grabbed the bait and off hewent. After bringing in the rest of thetackle, we started to back down on the Shark to retrieve some line. His tail rubbed the fishing line and in asplit second, the line went slack – the Shark got away. We went back and set up again on the rip, this time a Mahi Mahi appeared on the right short – Dave was the angler on thisone and he brought the Mahi Mahi to the side of the boat – a great fish to eatfor dinner that night.
